About Us
BGC Bell Island (commonly know as Wabana Boys and Girls Club) is the only child and youth servicing organization on Bell Island. Since 1955, BGC Bell Island has been helping children and youth discover, develop and achieve their full potential as they grow to become adults and community leaders, by engaging them in activities and help them develop healthy minds and bodies. BGC Bell Island currently serves approximately 300 children and youth. BGC Bell Island offers a variety of programs that focus on recreation, education, leadership, mental wellness and physical activity, community engagement and life skill development. All year round, BGC Bell Island staff work diligently five days a week and host special events on weekends. Programs are designed to target children and youth from 5 – 18 years. By providing program space, BGC Bell Island also fills a gap in servicing adults (23-64 years of age) with cognitive impairments.
